From November 12 to 19, 2024, Malta hosted the European International project for youth workers, iGREEN “Green Generation – Better Future”, supported by the European Erasmus Plus program.

The project aimed to engage 24 youth workers and youth leaders from various organizations across eight European countries: France, Germany, Belgium, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Latvia, and Malta. The focus was on studying sustainable development and environmental awareness issues, empowering participants to become active change ambassadors in their organizations and communities, with the ultimate goal of creating a sustainable future for all.

The initiative sought to attract a diverse cohort of youth workers and youth leaders from different societal sectors, representing various levels of experience in addressing environmental challenges.

While the project program featured three expert specialists from France, Latvia, and Malta, all partners made significant contributions. They took responsibility for preparing specific events or sessions, actively participated in all project processes, and played crucial roles in disseminating the results.

The intensive 6-day program comprised a series of lectures, interactive educational workshops, round table discussions, peer learning sessions, and experiential activities. These were designed to equip youth workers and youth leaders with the knowledge and skills necessary to promote sustainable development and environmental awareness. The non-formal educational sessions covered a wide range of topics, including climate change, renewable energy sources, efficient secondary waste management, LAGOM philosophy, time management, project management, leadership, team building, stress management, non-violent communication, emotional harmonization, aromatherapy, wave therapy, upcycling creativity, and many others. Post-project dissemination activities are planned to share the project’s outcomes and successes with a broader youth audience.

Representing the organization “SIA LADIES DEAL CLUB”, Jelena Tonova participated in the project. She presented on the topic of Time Management, Event Management, program “Angels” for teenagers.

To further disseminate the information and knowledge gained from the iGREEN “Green Generation–Better Future” project, a youth event titled Art therapy as a creative photo shoot and the creation of a wish map for 2025 as a vector for planning events. The events are scheduled for the end of 2024.
